Launching nationwide this week, Quorn has announced it will be one of the first food brands to move its chilled ready meals to 80% recycled trays, following retailers such as Asda and Sainsburys. The move is further proof of Quorn’s continued commitment to being as sustainable a business as possible, following the removal of black plastic earlier this year.
The new trays will replace the current white trays on Tantalising Tikka Masala, Comforting Cottage Pie and Love It Lasagne ready meals, making the products better for the planet but with the same great taste.
The trays, from manufacturer Faerch, are created from a mix of different coloured recycled PET, meaning at the start you may see a range of different colour trays produced, however this should settle into a sage colour over time.
