Quorn Meatballs and creamy gravy with mash

Tuck into this delicious plate of Quorn Vegetarian Swedish Style Balls smothered in a thick creamy gravy. It's super simple to make, simply fry the Quorn Vegetarian Swedish Style Balls whilst whipping up a quick sauce made with gravy granules, stock, soy sauce and cream cheese.

Vegetarian Meatballs served with a traditional creamy gravy makes the perfect comforting weeknight meal, simply pile on top of fluffy creamy mash, peas, and finish with a big dollop of cranberry or lingonberry jam!

Made with Quorn Vegetarian Swedish Style Balls

Ingredients

  • 300g Quorn Vegetarian Swedish Style Balls
  • 100g light cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp onion gravy granules
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 200-300ml vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic granules
  • ½ tsp black pepper

To serve:

  • 300g potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 200g frozen peas, boiled
  • 1 tsp cranberry sauce

Method

  1. Fry off 300g of Quorn Vegetarian Swedish Style Balls in a pan with the olive oil and soy sauce for 15-18 minutes until cooked through and browned slightly. Set aside in a bowl to add back into the sauce later.

  2. In the same pan, mix together the vegetable stock with the onion gravy granules until dissolved. Combine with the light cream cheese and simmer on a low heat. Keep mixing until you’ve reached a thick and creamy sauce.

  3. Season to taste with garlic granules and a generous amount of black pepper.

  4. Add the Quorn Vegetarian Swedish Style Balls back in to coat in the sauce and reheat. We recommend you serve up with mashed potatoes, peas and cranberry sauce!

This went down very well for tea tonight! I didn't follow the recipe to a T , I oven cooked the meatballs in the oven for 20 mins while the veg were cooking then I prepared the stock, and I used soft cheese with herbs and garlic, it is now the family favourite dinner, delicious quick and easy.

The is a really nice recipe. Love the way the Swedish balls are cooked but not 100% on the gravy. Think there is a bit too much cream cheese in it for me so I think I'd use less in the future.
