Vegetarian Chicken Paprikash with Quorn Fillets

Try this vegetarian Hungarian chicken paprikash made with tender Quorn Vegetarian Fillets simmered in a creamy spicy sauce. Mix up your midweek dinner rotation with this Hungarian paprikash recipe. This dish is packed with fragrant paprika for a hit of spice with plenty of flavour.

Combined with fresh sour cream and tomato puree this dinner is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Serve up with fresh pasta and a sprinkle of herbs.

Ingredients

  • 4 Quorn Vegetarian Fillets
  • 1 red pepper, thinly diced
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, diced
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • ¾ tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 300ml vegetable stock
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 375g pasta of choice
  • Salt & pepper
  • A handful of fresh parsley

Method

  1. Fry Quorn Vegetarian Fillets in oil, salt & pepper until golden and set to one side. Cut into pieces if preferred. Meanwhile cook your pasta to pack instructions.
  2. In same pan, fry off the onion & pepper until soft then add salt, pepper, and paprika and stir. Add in the diced tomatoes and garlic and stir again.
  3. Add the tomato puree and cook for a few minutes until this has darkened. Add in the flour and stock and stir well.
  4. Add the Quorn Fillets back to the pan and add the sour cream. Allow to simmer for around 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with the pasta. Enjoy!
